Event Log Monitor Tab

Details on the Event Log Monitor tab for NTPwatch Properties in the NTpage Client.

NTpage Watcher Event Log Monitoring Tab allows you to specify an NTpage Group to send messages to when a Windows NT Error Event occurs in the System or Application Log.

Selecting a Group to send NT Event Log Errors to
The most important parameter that you set up is the Notify Group Name. This is the name of the group that you want notifications sent to. You would set up this group using the NTpage Administrator. For example, let's say when a machine generated an Event Error you wanted the error to be dispatched to a group of technicians. Go to the NTpage Administrator and create a group called Technicians. Then add various users to that group. Each user can have messages routed to their pager and/or E-mail.

To select a group to send the errors to, run the NTpage Client, click Configuration, NTPwatch Properties, then click the Event Log Monitor Tab. Click on the Retrieve list of groups from the server button. This retrieves a list of all the groups currently setup in NTpage. Click on the group in the list that you want the errors sent to.

Test Event Log Monitor
To test the event log monitor, run the NTpage Client, click Configuration, NTPwatch Properties, then click the Event Log Monitor Tab. Click the Test Event Log Monitor button. This generates an Error in the Windows NT Event Log. NTpage Watcher will see the new Error and report it if all things are configured correctly
